Herb Blends
At the Sunny Side Cafe I make a habit of keeping
a number of custom spice blends handy ~ here are a few for
your home kitchen.
Every Day Herb Blend
Classic California blend with a hint of peppermint. Using
only the finest organic herbs and hand-harvested French gray
salt, this spice blend is perfect for your Every Day cooking.
From Italian sauces to pizzas, meat rubs to soups, this fragrant
blend is the perfect addition.

The Grey Salt used in this blend is certified
organic by France's Nature & Progrés. This is the
most rigorous salt certification process, which equates to
purity and quality. (NOTE: The USDA does not allow any Salt
types to be labeled as Organic in the United States.)
Herbes de Provence
I was driven to produce my own blend of this classic mix due
to my inability to find an organic version. Provençal
French blend, with marjoram, thyme and a hint of lavender.

Classic recipes with Herbes de Provence
include rubbing on roast chicken or pork, or for flavoring
soups and stews.
Cal Mex Spice Mix
I use this spice mix in my famous black beans at The Sunny
Side Café. A savory blend of three chiles, Mexican
oregano, and a hint of natural sugar, this mildly spicy blend
is perfect for taco meat seasoning, chili and black beans.

Sugar and Spice
Sugar and spice, what could be more nice?
Well, for starters we use only the finest, Fair Trade, organic,
unrefined sugar we can find. This is blended with granulated
dried cane juice (also known as Sucanat) and cinnamon, nutmeg,
clove, and allspice. Perfect for cinnamon toast, in your morning
coffee or tea, on fruit and ice cream for a quick dessert.
